#AlbumReview of @mumfordandsons #Delta: —
I don’t think anything will ever capture the euphoria of listening to Sigh No More for the first time. That was the worlds introduction to Mumford & Sons.
That said, this album is something special. It manages to develop a new sound while capturing the essence of the previous 3 albums. To best describe this album is to say it is taking the best of all previous releases. Mr. Mumford and company did not let down in the writing department leaving behind 14 gorgeously nuanced performances from “42” all the way to the title (and closing) track “Delta”. The one factor that causes Delta to suffer is that it can’t capture the original magic from Wilder Mind. I wouldn’t say the album feels empty and I truly think that magic will be captured again as the band continues to experiment with this wonderful combination of sounds we call music.
While I’ll always consider Wilder Mind to my favorite of theirs, this album certainly deserves praise.
I give @mumfordandsons new album #Delta an 8/10 on account of great sounds and greater writing, while still being incapable of capturing the original magic that they left us in 2009. —
